Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the refund and cancellation terms applicable to courses and educational services provided by Gates Digital Pte Ltd ("Gates Digital", "SG Scholars", "we", "us" or "our").

By purchasing a course or service from SG Scholars, you acknowledge and agree to this Policy.

1. General Refund Policy

Because SG Scholars provides digital educational content and online learning services, refunds may be subject to the type of course, whether access has been provided, and whether the course has commenced.

Unless otherwise stated on the relevant course or checkout page:

Digital course purchases are generally non-refundable once substantial course content has been accessed, streamed or made available to the student.
Live course enrolments may be subject to different cancellation and refund conditions depending on the course start date and the amount of the programme already delivered.
Refund eligibility will be determined based on this Policy and the specific terms displayed at the time of purchase.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude or limit any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Singapore law.

2. Cancellation Before Course Access

A parent/guardian may request cancellation before the student has substantially accessed the purchased course.

Where the course has not commenced and no substantial digital content has been accessed, SG Scholars may consider a refund, subject to:

The specific course's refund terms;
Administrative or transaction costs, where applicable; and
Any applicable legal requirements.

Approval of a refund does not automatically apply to future purchases or other courses.

3. Cancellation After Course Access

Once a student has accessed, streamed, downloaded where permitted, or otherwise received substantial digital course content, the purchase will generally be considered fulfilled and may not be eligible for a refund.

This may include access to:

Recorded lessons;
Course videos;
Learning materials;
Worksheets;
Assessments;
Digital resources; or
Other course content made available through the Platform.

This policy applies even if the student has not completed all available lessons after gaining substantial access to the course.

4. Live Classes

For programmes that include live online classes, refund eligibility may depend on whether the programme has started.

If a cancellation request is made before the first scheduled class, SG Scholars may consider the request according to the applicable course refund terms.

Once live classes have commenced, refunds may be reduced or unavailable depending on the number of classes delivered, course materials accessed and services already provided.

Missing a live class does not automatically create a right to a refund.

Where available, students may receive access to class recordings or other learning materials instead.

5. Permanent Access Courses

Where a course is advertised as providing "Permanent Access", this means that the enrolled student may continue to access the purchased course materials for as long as SG Scholars continues to operate and provide those materials.

Permanent Access does not create an unconditional right to a refund at any time after purchase.

Once substantial course content has been accessed, the purchase will generally remain non-refundable in accordance with this Policy.

6. Refund Requests and Processing

Refund requests should be submitted through the contact details provided on the SG Scholars website.

The request should include:

Parent/guardian name;
Student name;
Account email address;
Course name;
Purchase or transaction details; and
Reason for the refund request.

SG Scholars may request additional information to verify the purchase and assess the refund request.

Where a refund is approved, it will normally be returned using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

Processing times may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.

7. Duplicate, Incorrect or Unauthorised Payments

If you believe that you have been charged more than once for the same purchase, please contact SG Scholars as soon as possible.

Verified duplicate payments may be refunded after confirmation.

If you believe that a payment was made without your authorisation, please contact us promptly and, where appropriate, your payment provider or bank.

8. Course Cancellation or Changes by SG Scholars

SG Scholars may occasionally need to cancel, postpone or substantially change a course due to circumstances such as insufficient enrolment, instructor availability, technical issues or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where SG Scholars cancels a course and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, affected customers may be offered an appropriate remedy, which may include:

Transfer to another available class or course;
Credit toward another SG Scholars programme; or
A refund, where appropriate.

If a class is rescheduled, reasonable efforts will be made to notify affected students or parents/guardians.
